Rotork assists BAE Systems in naval base actuator upgrades

Rotork has been working with BAE Systems to improve a series of A-range actuators to IQ3 actuators which function penstocks controlling movement of ships between the ocean and transitional locks and dry docks at Her Majesty’s Naval Base Portsmouth (HMNB Portsmouth).
เกจวัดแรงดันเครื่องกรองน้ำ of A-range actuators had reached the top of their operational life after long service in a difficult setting. BAE Systems wanted to retain all the advantages of electrical actuators, so IQ3 actuators have been chosen. These needed to be specially tailored by Rotork to beat issues around confined spaces and tough entry.
IQ3 actuators and IS gearboxes were mechanically adapted in order that each actuator and gearbox might be manually operated with out getting into the confined space. Rotork designed special hand auto levers and thru drive mechanisms for the actuator and gearbox to get rid of the necessity for confined area entry.
Actuators throughout the IQ vary are watertight, providing ingress protection to IP66/68 at 20 m for 10 days. They have an advanced dual stacked show with configurable data logger functionality, and an absolute place sensor supplies reliability and accuracy.
