Yellow Line monorail trial attracts eighty,000 passengers, plans expansion

Nearly eighty,000 passengers took benefit of the Yellow Line’s trial run over the weekend, as the Department of Rail Transport (DRT) plans to increase the trial to all 23 stations by mid-month. No sweat , the DRT’s director-general, said that the current trial run consists of thirteen stations from Hua Mak to Samrong.
Pichet famous that a large number of individuals participated within the trial run, with 38,521 passengers on Saturday and 36,879 passengers on Sunday. The Yellow Line trains operate each 10 minutes from 9am to 8pm day by day, offering free rides to passengers who obtain tickets at each station’s sales space.

The 30.4-kilometre Yellow Line connects with the Green Line at Samrong Station, the Airport Rail Link at Hua Mak Station, and the Blue Line at Lat Phrao Station. In the near future, the Yellow Line may even hyperlink to the Orange Line via Yaek Lam Sali station, reported Bangkok Post.
Pichet expects the number of passengers to increase on weekdays because of the Yellow Line’s interchanges with different metropolis trains, such as MRT, BTS, and Airport Rail Link. The Yellow Line is anticipated to alleviate congestion on Srinakarin Road and Lat Phrao Road, as more commuters opt to use the monorail service instead of their vehicles.
